What Bathtub Installation Involves
Bathtub installation is the process of fitting a new tub into a bathroom space and connecting it to the home’s plumbing system. That includes the drain assembly, overflow, hot and cold supply lines, and the trap underneath. Every connection has to seal properly and meet Nevada plumbing code.
On our end, the plumbing scope covers everything from demo to final testing. We pull the old tub, adjust supply and drain lines where needed, and set the new unit level. Older Las Vegas homes from the 1990s sometimes still have drum traps underneath. Those have to come out and get converted to P-traps before a new tub goes in. We check for that early.
One detail that gets overlooked on a lot of installs: the drain shoe and overflow plate height have to match the new tub exactly. Those dimensions are not universal. They vary by manufacturer, and getting them wrong means a bad seal or a visible gap at the overflow. We confirm specs before ordering parts. After everything is connected, we pressure-test supply lines and run water through the drain. Whether you are going with an alcove, freestanding, drop-in, or deck surround tub, we size the rough-in to fit.
