What Toilet Installation Involves

Here is the actual scope. Water gets shut off. Old toilet gets disconnected, pulled, and removed. Then we look at what is underneath. Is the flange intact? Is the subfloor solid? Is there rot or water damage from a previous leak? If the flange and floor check out, we set a new wax ring or wax-free seal, lower the bowl onto the bolts, level it, torque it down evenly, mount the tank, hook up the supply, and run the flush cycle until everything checks out.

The rough-in measurement matters more than most people think. The EPA WaterSense certifies water-efficient toilet models that use 1.28 gallons per flush or less. That rough-in distance from the wall to the center of the waste flange determines which toilets fit. Standard is 12 inches, but some Las Vegas homes run 10 or 14. We measure before ordering. We also inspect the flange. A corroded or broken flange is the number one cause of base leaks on new installs. If it needs work, we handle it before the new toilet goes down.

A toilet swap rarely happens in isolation. If the tub, shower, bidet, or other bathroom fixtures are part of the same project, the plumbing scope overlaps and it is worth handling them together. Related services we cover during a toilet install or full bathroom job:
