What Air Quality Testing Measures
Air quality testing isn’t one thing. It’s a set of measurements that build a picture of what’s actually in your home’s air. Different contaminants need different instruments. Our technicians use professional-grade, calibrated equipment on every visit. The results mean different things depending on what’s elevated and by how much.
These are the factors our technicians check in Las Vegas homes:
- Particulate matter. Desert soil in Las Vegas is fine-grained. It gets pulled through intakes, tracked in through doors, and passes through lower-rated filters without being captured.
- Volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Paint, flooring, adhesives, and cleaning products release compounds into the air. Homes that stay sealed most of the year hold those levels higher than they’d be anywhere with regular airflow.
- Humidity and moisture levels. Las Vegas air runs dry, but any localized moisture in the home is a biological growth risk worth finding early.
- Carbon monoxide and combustion byproducts. Gas appliances, attached garages, older HVAC units. Homes with any of these get checked for combustion-related contaminants.
- Biological contaminants. Mold spores, bacteria, and other biological material. Spore counts above established thresholds indicate active growth somewhere in the home. These turn up most often after water damage or in duct systems that have not been serviced in years.
After we finish the readings, we go through everything with you on the spot. What each number means, how it compares to a typical Las Vegas home, and what we would flag if anything is elevated. Ready to find out what is in your air? Schedule a test with our team today.
