What Thermostat Services Cover
Thermostat service is not just swapping out a unit. It covers the full range of what keeps your heating and cooling controls working right: installation of new or replacement units, diagnosis and repair when something is off, and routine maintenance checks that catch problems before they turn into bigger ones.
The thermostat is how your HVAC system knows what to do. When it is giving bad instructions, everything downstream suffers.
Pure Plumbing & Air works on all major thermostat types. Standard and programmable units, smart thermostats, HVAC controllers, and multi-zone control systems. Every job includes a compatibility check, wiring verification, and a full system test before we pack up.
- First: C-wire compatibility. Most smart thermostats need a C-wire (common wire) to hold a stable power connection. A lot of Las Vegas homes built before the mid-2000s were never wired with one, because older programmable thermostats did not need it. Skip that check and you end up with a display that flickers, a thermostat that resets itself, or a system that will not respond at all. We verify C-wire availability before any smart thermostat goes on the wall. If your system is not wired for one, there are proven options to address it, including add-a-wire adapters or system-specific power configurations, and we will walk you through which applies before anything gets installed.
- Second: calibration drift from desert heat. When the air around a thermostat regularly hits triple digits, the internal sensor tends to read high over time. Your system ends up running longer cycles than it actually needs to. Catching that drift in an annual check is a lot cheaper than finding out through your electric bill.
